Rachel Stern must balance her desire to advocate for her client, Danielle, with her concern for the safety of Danielle’s children. A compassionate and warmhearted therapist, Rachel cares deeply for her clients. Fearing she’s been an unwitting accomplice in the removal of her client’s children, Rachel throws her weight behind Danielle, who she has known to be warm and loving with her children. If Rachel can help Danielle take more responsibility and develop better parenting skills, she can stop the children from being caught in the crossfire of separation. Rachel must stand up to a bureaucratic system, one that is reluctant to provide necessary parental education and, in Rachel’s mind, quick to judge parents and take their children away.
